Privacy Policy

Privacy first: Home Story is designed so that we never see your data. There are no accounts, no servers of ours, no analytics, and no ads. Everything you record about your home stays on your device and, if you enable backups, in your own iCloud.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Personal information

We collect no personal information. Home Story requires no account, email, or identifier of any kind. You can use the app completely anonymously.

1.2 Home and maintenance data

Everything you enter is stored locally on your device: home details (nickname, type, year built), maintenance schedules and service records, photos you attach, costs and vendor notes, issues, condition snapshots, and reminder preferences. This data never leaves your device except through the backup and export features described below, which go only to storage you own.

1.3 Analytics

We collect no analytics or usage data. Home Story contains no third-party analytics SDKs, tracking, or telemetry — and no advertising.

2. iCloud backup

If your device is signed into iCloud, Home Story backs your data up to the app's private container in your iCloud account, so your records survive a reinstall or a new phone. We operate no servers and cannot access these backups. You can also back up, restore, or export a local file at any time from Settings; disabling iCloud Drive for Home Story keeps everything device-only.

3. Purchases

Home Story Pro is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple. Purchase receipts are validated by RevenueCat, our purchase infrastructure provider, using an anonymous identifier — no name, email, or personal information is involved. We never see payment details.

4. Notifications

Maintenance reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. Nothing is sent to or from a server to deliver them.

5. Photos

If you attach photos to records, Home Story asks for photo-library or camera permission and stores the images in the app's local storage (and in your backups). Photos are never uploaded to us.

6. Children's privacy

Home Story is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

7. Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the effective date revised before the change ships.
