Where is my data stored?

On your device, in the app's secure local storage. Plant Story never uploads your plant's records to any server of ours — your data is as private as the photos on your phone.

How do I back up my data?

Plant Story backs up automatically and syncs to your private iCloud when your device is signed in, so your records survive a reinstall or a new phone. You can also back up or restore manually any time from Settings, or export a JSON file you keep yourself. Backups live in your own iCloud account; we run no servers and cannot see them.

How do the care routines work?

When you add a plant, Plant Story applies a built-in routine matched to its category — watering, misting, light rotation, fertilizing, repotting, pruning, and pest checks, each with its own cadence (a thirsty fern and a drought-loving cactus are watered very differently). Logging care with the matching name marks it done and restarts its clock. You can disable any task that doesn't apply.

Are the intervals official data?

They're standard houseplant-care recommendations, not brand-specific data. Treat them as sensible defaults: your home's light and humidity, and the plant itself, win whenever they disagree.

Can I track more than one plant?

The free version tracks one plant. Plant Story Pro — a one-time purchase, not a subscription — unlocks unlimited plants plus PDF care reports and care insights.

How do reminders work?

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device from each task's cadence and your logged history. Adjust timing or turn them off in Settings.
