Ask Monie
Privacy Policy
Effective June 13, 2026 (v1.0)
Privacy first: Ask Monie is designed so that we never see your data. There are no accounts, no servers of ours, no analytics, and no ads. Everything you record — transactions, budgets, goals, and photos — stays on your device.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Personal information
We collect no personal information. Ask Monie requires no account, email, or identifier of any kind. You can use the app completely anonymously.
1.2 Financial data
Everything you enter is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework: transactions (amounts, titles, categories, dates, notes, people, payment labels), budgets, savings goals and contribution history, recurring transactions, and any photos you attach. This data never leaves your device except through the backup and export features described below, which go only to storage you own.
1.3 Analytics
We collect no analytics or usage data. Ask Monie contains no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs — none from Google, Meta, or any data broker.
2. iCloud backup
If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your Ask Monie data may be included in that backup, in your iCloud account, so your records survive a reinstall or a new phone. We operate no servers and cannot access these backups. You can also export your data as a CSV or PDF at any time from Settings.
3. Purchases
Ask Monie Pro is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. There is no third-party purchase SDK — your entitlement is read on-device from StoreKit, and we never see your name, email, or payment details.
4. Notifications
Budget alerts are local notifications scheduled on your device. Nothing is sent to or from a server to deliver them, and no push-notification tokens are collected. You can enable or disable them in Settings.
5. Photos
You can attach photos (up to five per transaction) for receipts and the like. They are selected through Apple's photo picker, stored in the app's local storage, and are never uploaded to us.
6. Children's privacy
Ask Monie is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
7. Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the effective date revised before the change ships.
